It never gets really cold in Tanzania so lightweight clothing is the standard unless you are trekking Mount Kilimanjaro. However, in Arusha and Ngorongoro crater rim one can experience colder weather in the months of June and July. On safari, short sleeved shirts, blouses and shorts are ideal. A light jacket or sweater may be needed in the evening at higher altitudes. Sensible walking shoes, a hat with a wide enough brim to keep off the sun, and sunglasses are essential. While on your vacation remember that you don’t need to dress up, safaris are normally casual.
