Tanzania is the safest country in East Africa. However, just as in any other country, you must be cautious of your surroundings. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery, walking in the dark, deserted streets and keep an eye on your purses, wallets, handbags and cameras. Never accept food or drinks from strangers.
