CURRENCY IN TANZANIA

The unit of currency in Tanzania is shilling, available in notes and coins. One shilling is divided into 100 cents. There are no restrictions on how much you should travel with and no currency declaration is required. But import and export of Tanzania currency is illegal. Foreign currency in cash or travellers cheques may be exchanged at banks, authorized dealers and at the Bureau de Change at the International airports, major towns and border posts.
